Local farmers are supporting one another to navigate the complexity, isolation, and analysis paralysis regarding what to do in the face of climate change-related weather and economic shocks. Crosshatch Center for Art and Ecology invites you to join us to continue learning and discussing community and individual climate change adaptation strategies related to agricultural activities.
Between November 2022 and June 2023, landowners from nine properties met regularly to learn, discuss, and observe each other’s farm systems. Through peer-to-peer learning and discussion, they each planned and began implementing new agriculture practices to sequester and store carbon while increasing resilience against weather and economic shocks.
Following a brief presentation, we will discuss promising practices and support resources for climate-smart farming and land management from backyard to business scale.
This program is presented by Crosshatch Center for Art and Ecology, made possible by support from the USDA North Central Extension Risk Management Education Program.
