About the artists:
Adrianne Evans is a senior at Michigan State University majoring in double bass performance and minoring in jazz studies. She is studying with internationally renowned bassist, Rodney Whitaker for jazz bass and principal bassist for the Detroit Symphony orchestra, Kevin Brown, for classical bass performance. Adrianne sings in one MSU jazz ensemble and plays bass in another. She also plays in the MSU symphony, the MSU Salsa band (Salsa Verde), and substitutes as a singer with the Lansing area salsa band, Ritmo. Adrianne grew up in Northern MI and is a graduate of Traverse City Central High school and NMC. Adrianne grew up singing and playing bass, piano, and ukelele with her father, Andy Evans and several other Traverse City jazz musicians.
Andy Evans raised in Cedar, MI, graduated from Michigan State University with a B.A. in Music and a M.A. in Educational Technology. He played as a freelance artist in Nashville, TN for 8 years and taught 5-8 orchestra for 3 years for the Metropolitan Nashville public school system. Andy has performed with numerous groups including: The 5th Dimension, Gary U.S. Bonds, Ben E. King, The Nashville Jazz orchestra, The Establishment Big Band, The Roland Gresham trio, Vassar Clements, Annie Sellick, and Al Delory and Salsa en Nashville. In addition to performing, Andy currently directs 5 choirs grades 5-12.
Jon Lindenau, "Lindy" has been playing with top musicians in the Traverse City area for years. He is a graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy.
Steve Stargardt has a wide range of musical experiences in his career. Steve has worked with most of the local jazz musicians in many different settings. He has arranged and directed the band for the TC Rotary show and the Elk Rapids Rotary Show and Old Town Playhouse Gala Fundraisers.. Steve leads a trio in the summers at the Charlevoix Public Library where he organizes weekly concerts. He has been involved with worship ministry for many years and now is part of the worship team at New Hope Community Church.
Steve graduated from the Conservatory of Music of the University of Cincinnati with a B.M. and a B.S. degree. He also earned a MA. degree in counseling from Central University. His 30 years in public school has allowed him to teach music, 6th grade math and Middle School Counselor. Following retiring from Charlevoix in 1999, Steve became Elementary Principal at Living God Christian School/Traverse City Christian School until 2017. Throughout his years as an educator, performing has always been an important component in his life.
Steve is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio but has lived in Northern Michigan since 1972 and now resides in Elk Rapids.
