Doors + bar @ 7pm - Music at 7:30 - $10 in advance - $15 at the door
Fernando Silverio Solis, based in Flint, MI, has been making music since he was a teenager. He started out on bass while steadily honing his skills as a musician through a variety of bands and a variety of guitar-based genres, be it metal, punk, or indie-rock. When Solis was much younger, though, he had a steady aural intake of outlaw country troubadours, thanks to his father, and those twangy, western-y, Americana elements are still subtly shimmering in his latest batch of tunes. If you listen with the right ears, you’ll hear an indie-rocker with a sensibility for catchy choruses, but also retaining an appreciation for the cathartic power of folk/Americana, the grit of punk, and the heavy heart of country. Recently and with the help of his friends, Solis has put together a new band: Fernando Silverio Solis Y El Sueño with John Guynn (guitar), Jacques Doucet (lap steel), Austin Conquest (bass) and Ryan Gregory (drums) to help expand the new sound. The music of Fernando Silverio Solis y El Sueño is available on all streaming platforms and YouTube, including his newest album “Somebody That You Keep Around,” past favorite songs “Are You Happy Here?” “When the Good Starts to Fade” and more.
Lansing's Kid Shoeshine will be opening the night! Two sweet bands we don't often get to see in Traverse City, for only $10. All ages welcome.
