Film Screening - The People and the Olive - SOLD OUT

  • The Alluvion 414 East Eighth Street Traverse City, MI, 49686 United States (map)

PLEASE NOTE: THIS EVENT IS FULL.

On The Ground presents a Nov 8th screening of The People and the Olive, a non-partisan community discussion, and Palestinian food by Hexenbelle.

Join us on Wednesday, November 8, from 5:30-8 pm at The Alluvion in the Commongrounds Cooperative building on 8th St. in Traverse City for a showing of The People and the Olive, a 2012 film about 10 northern Michiganders running across the West Bank of Palestine and bonding with local olive farmers. Following the movie we'll hold a a non-partisan Q&A and community conversation, including Palestinian food provided by Hexenbelle.

Our hearts are heavy as we follow news of the bloodshed and war in Israel and Gaza. While we condemn extremism and violence against innocent people, we're showing this movie to celebrate the vibrant culture of those in the West Bank who hosted us on our Run Across Palestine 11 years ago.

We ask a donation of $10 per being to cover the cost of food and the event space.

***The Alluvion has limited capacity for film screenings, and this event is sold out.***
