Returned Peace Corps Volunteers of Northern Michigan (RPCV-NM) will be telling stories from their Peace Corps service at “Letters Home”

This event is produced in collaboration with Kabie Stein of Here:Say Storytelling. The returned volunteers will tell true, first-person stories about their experiences while serving in countries as diverse as Peru, Paraguay, Cameroon, Niger, The Philippines and Solomon Islands.

The six storytellers are all residents of the Grand Traverse area: Jeff Dahlberg, Don Hinman, Marilyn Jaquish, Ann McPhail, Kathi Mulder, and Kama Ross. When these returned Peace Corps volunteers signed up for two years of service, they agreed to a mission of promoting world peace and friendship through community-based development and intercultural understanding.

Since 1961, when President John F. Kennedy established the Peace Corps, more than 240,000 volunteers have been putting their purpose, passion, and skills to work in 140 countries.

Here:Say is a live storytelling show staged monthly at The Alluvion. Here:Say is space where we can reconnect through the hilarious, heartfelt, and sometimes horrifying stories that tell life’s many truths.
