PFLAG Presents: Stories of LGBTQI2S – a primer on affirmative language and systems

PFLAG a local non-profit organization invites you to a special educational presentation focused on creating a more caring world for the LGBTQI2S community.

  • By participating in this program, the audience will understand some basic things we can do to create a more caring world for LGBTQI2S people and those who love them

  • By participating in this program, the audience will understand basics of affirmative language and systems for the LGBTQI2S family and friends and why affirmative language is important

  • By participating in this program, the audience will learn how affirmative language and systems have been applied in real life organizational systems

  • By participating in this program, the audience will learn the social and psychological effects of using LGBTQI2S affirmative language with our family and friends

Brief Description: The 90-minute program will include a short presentation and panel discussion format moderated by PFLAG president. The diverse panel members will include members of the LGBTQI2S community, community leaders, clergy, parents and gender affirming language experts. Prepared questions and questions/comments from the audience will be encouraged.
