This will be a fully seated, listening room style show.

Slow Spell is an experimental rock band from Traverse City, Michigan. The quartet creates music built from a vocabulary formed from their own unique chemistry. Knotted guitar, hypnotic bass, and dynamic drums weave together around the melodic and deeply powerful vocals of Laurel Premo. The resulting sound is somewhat enigmatic; fragile yet muscular, foggy yet crystalline, dark yet full of light.

The group was born out of lengthy improv sessions, with no planning or discussions; simply 4 musical voices venturing, together, on an unlit path. After nearly a year of slowly and quietly honing their music, the group has slowly started to schedule performances. With a debut at the 2023 Earthwork Harvest Gathering and a local performance in May 2024 the band is excited to continue to share its work at The Alluvion on August 17. Slow Spell consists of Laurel Premo (vocals), Chris Stefanciw (guitar), Peter Lepczyk (bass), and Will Thomas (drums).

A very special solo set from Miglodesh aka Mike Savina will open the evening.
