About Jane Kendra:
Jane Kendra is a Traverse City artist and illustrator who works primarily in watercolor and also enjoys exploring mixed media. Her work includes illustrations, intuitive painting and decorative art. Jane began college as an art major but was unsure of a career path so she pivoted into another interest of hers, architecture. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture from Lawrence Tech University and worked in the healthcare field as an Architectural Designer for 20 years. Jane has recently shifted her career from architecture back to the art world where her early college education helped lay a foundation for her rebirth as an artist. Her natural attention to detail has led her interest in painting as documentation of form, color, and light. She is inspired by the endless variety of shapes and form in nature. When Jane isn’t painting, you will find her walking her dog and stopping to take close-up pictures of the flowers, leaves, and other "growies" she finds along the way that she hopes to paint one day.
